Iron Savior - Discografia [1997 - 2007]

O Iron Savior surgiu através da amizade entre Piet Sielck e Kai Hansen. Os dois músicos alemães já se conheciam há muitos anos, desde que participavam da banda Gentry, que acabaria sendo uma espécie de embrião do Helloween. Depois de um bom tempo, a dupla se reencontraria na produção do debut do Gamma Ray, “Heading for Tomorrow”. O trabalho abriu muitas portas para Piet, que graças a ele viria a trabalhar posteriormente com grupos como Uriah Heep, Saxon e Blind Guardian. Aliás, desse último surgiria a peça que completou o início desse projeto, o baterista Thomen Stauch. A temática de ficção científica seria a inspiração para o primeiro play, e continua sendo até os dias atuais.

Com esse line-up gravaram o primeiro disco, auto-intitulado, com aceitação imediata na mídia especializada. O som, obviamente, lembra bastante os trabalhos dos membros em suas outras bandas. Há espaço para um cover de “This Flight Tonight”, do Nazareth. Aliás, as regravações de músicas de algumas de suas influências tornam-se algo de praxe em todos os plays do projeto. Passados dois anos, já sem Thomen e com uma formação estabelecida, o Iron Savior lança seu melhor trabalho, “Unification”. Contando com uma melhor produção e composições mais bem trabalhadas, o disco faz ainda mais sucesso, trazendo, além das músicas próprias, uma nova versão para “Gorgar” do Helloween e “Neon Knights” do Black Sabbath, além de abrir espaço para uma nova banda mostrar seu trabalho na última faixa do CD, no caso o Excelsis, escolhido pelo próprio Sielck. Aproveitando a onda positiva, ainda colocam no mercado o EP “Interlude”.

Em 2001, gravam “Dark Assault”, que seria o último com a presença de Kai Hansen, que decidiu dedicar-se integralmente a seu grupo principal, o Gamma Ray. Mesmo assim, Piet decide dar prosseguimento ao Iron Savior. E para mostrar que não perdeu tempo, já disponibiliza poucos meses depois outro álbum, “Condition Red”. Dois anos depois chega “Battering Ram” e em 2007, “Megatropolis”, até aqui o último lançamento do grupo. Fãs do mais puro Power Metal com raízes germânicas vão gostar. Até porque Kai Hansen é Deus para os adeptos do estilo.
